Bus connections to/from Malaga Airport

Several bus lines connect Málaga Airport with the city centre and various destinations along the Costa del Sol, including Nerja, Marbella, and Estepona, as well as other Andalusian provinces via long-distance routes.

Málaga Airport has three bus stops.

  • Terminal T3 stop (Arrivals): This is the main bus stop, located just outside the passenger terminal. This is where the Line A Express and buses to Nerja, Marbella, Estepona, Algeciras, Seville, Granada, and other destinations stop.
  • Cercanías Rail Connection stop: Located next to the transport interchange, with access to the train station on the other side. Used by lines M-135 and M-169.
  • Cargo Terminal stop: A secondary stop in the airport's industrial and services area. Also used by lines M-135 and M-169.

The first two are easy to find: as you walk out of the Arrivals hall, you'll see them just a few metres away.

Direct destinations from the airport

The following destinations can be reached by bus directly from the airport. Journey times are approximate.

If your destination isn't served by a direct bus from the airport, you'll need to head to Málaga's main bus station in the city centre. Take the Line A Express to get there. If you arrive after bus services have stopped running, you can book a taxi to the bus station.

City buses to Málaga Airport

Line A (Express) – Paseo del Parque to Málaga Airport

To travel between Málaga Airport and the city centre by bus, take the A Express line. It's a fast service that takes around 15–25 minutes. Services run from 6:25 from Málaga city centre and from 7:00 from the airport.

The bus stops at María Zambrano train station (AVE/high-speed rail and main bus station), making it easy to connect with long-distance buses or trains.

Ticket price: €4. You can pay on board by cash or card. There is also a ticket booth next to the Arrivals exit.

Frequency and timetables – Line A Express.

Direction: Airport Málaga city centre:

Buses run from 7:00 to 1:15, with services every 20–25 minutes during peak hours and every 30–35 minutes off-peak.

Approximate journey time: 15–18 min.

Direction: Málaga city centre Airport:

Buses run from 6:25 to 00:35, with services every 20–25 minutes during peak hours and every 25–30 minutes off-peak.

Regional and Intercity buses

There are buses from the airport to Nerja, Málaga, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Marbella, San Pedro, Estepona, and others.

These services originate in Málaga city centre but stop at the airport along the way. They are operated by the Málaga Metropolitan Transport Consortium (CTMAM) and the companies Avanza and Alsa.

Tip: If you want a faster journey, some routes offer Express services with fewer stops, such as the A Express to Málaga city centre, the L-613 to Estepona and the L-616 to Marbella.

Line M-135: Málaga – Málaga Airport – Santa Amalia (Alhaurín de la Torre).

This bus departs from Málaga's main bus station and makes numerous stops along the way to its final destination, Santa Amalia. After leaving the city, it enters the airport, where it has two stops. It also serves El Peñón, Alhaurín de la Torre, Viña Grande, Torrealquería and El Romeral, among other places. It is operated by CTMAM.

Line M-169: Alhaurín de la Torre – Málaga Airport – Puerta Blanca.

This bus runs from Alhaurín de la Torre and makes two stops at the airport before reaching its final destination, Puerta Blanca in Málaga, where there is also a Metro stop on line L2 Puerta Blanca. It is operated by CTMAM.

M-169 bus stops at the airport:

Opposite the Cargo Terminal.

Buses from the airport to Marbella

The bus lines connecting the airport with Marbella are: 602, 603, 605, 607, 610, 611, 613, 614, 616, 617 and 622. You can buy your ticket at a ticket kiosk in front of Terminal T3 or on their website to guarantee your seat.

The service is operated by Avanza and departs from the T3 Arrivals stop, right outside the terminal exit.

Of all the bus lines to Marbella, the L-616 is the direct express service between Marbella and the airport, with a journey time of around 45 minutes.

The bus lines connecting the airport with Estepona are: 602, 605, 610, 611, 613, 614, 617 and 622. You can buy your ticket at a kiosk in front of Terminal T3 or on their website.

The service is operated by Avanza and departs from the T3 Arrivals stop, right outside the terminal exit.

Among the available services to Estepona, the L-613 is the the direct express service between Estepona and the airport, with approximate journey time of 1 hr 15 min.

Long-distance coaches

Long-distance coach services from Málaga Airport connect the airport with destinations such as Seville, Granada, Córdoba, La Línea, and Algeciras. Routes are operated by the coach companies Alsa and Avanza, with departures from the Terminal T3 Arrivals bus stop, just outside the terminal exit.

Line L-602: Málaga Airport to Algeciras (Cádiz).
